Bon Voyage Rich & Lyndall & Happy Birthday Jibbering

Probably was one of the most emotional weekends i’ve had for a long while!

Djing at Lyndall and Rich's Leaving DoAfter setting up the p.a, decks and lights in the prince cellar, we all shared an early xmas meal in the fighting cocks, with a lot of mutual friends, to mark Rich & Lyndall’s next 6 months in Austrailia. The food was, to be fair, pretty poor, with rock hard roasties, cold broccolli, and what seemed like instant espressos and out the box deserts. While i do really like the pub to drink in, my food experiences there have been pretty undersized and overpriced, so not one i could recommend on the food front. A few of us complained, including my partner, who had been offered a pretty unchristmassy replacement for a miscount. This led to bigger things which i won’t go into here.

Afterwards we all went to the Prince for what turned out to be a really great party, and another very memorable djing gig for me, first with a back to back set with Anne Marie and Leon til 1.30 am, then after 2 hours of proper sock rockin, and small pockets of sillyness, i had another back to back with Rich Batsford for the last half hour. Loads of fun, with a whole load of great people, and our best friends had a most fitting send off for their next 6 months in sunny Australia. Bon voyage amigos. :)

bon voyage rich n lyndallThe next morning was a dark one, and matters of the heart and the impending move took up most of the day, despite being up for 10.30am to go for day 3 of my course. By the evening we back to the middle with a meal in Blue Ginger (which really is a great place to eat), and a trip to the jibbering birthday party at the Hare and Hounds. The Destroyers were in the main room, and Quantic Soul Orchestra Dj was playing in the newly opened backroom. The sound seemed a bit quite quiet for the Destroyers, as they definitly didnt seem to have their normal impact, but the dj in the other room was great to keep dipping in and grooving out to. Saw lots of friends, and we ended up going to back to Big Johns for a nightcap or two.
